Outside of our core activities, we can also provide publishers with a range of additional services. Please use the drop downs to learn more.
As the world continues to move online, seamless integration between systems is key to maintaining customer satisfaction. Our systems can be integrated with a publisher’s website, which allows key details like order information and tracking details to be sent directly to our systems.
Our consignment system allows us to deliver stock to multiple destinations on behalf of a customer, while also reporting stock on a consolidated basis. This means a client can clearly see what stock a customer has on hand. Our systems also allow customer sales files to be uploaded with minimum manual intervention, enabling clients to monitor and keep track of sales quickly and effectively.
We offer a subscription service to process physical products, digital products or bundles to our clients in addition to our other services. We can also provide a catalogue and mailing service.
Our specialist value added services team can take on any additional activities including stickering, pack make-up, shrink wrapping, catalogue and mailing services.
Audio publishing services
Publishing under this model can be far more profitable than sublicensing audio rights to a third-party audio publisher.
We have an established programme of producing and distributing digital audiobooks for client publishers. This enables client publishers to create their own audiobook list under their own name and using their own branding.
We bring 20 years’ worth of audio publishing expertise, with extensive knowledge of the audiobook market, recording and production services.
Additional to this we have a dedicated audio sales team whose sole focus is exclusively on selling in digital audio – we have excellent relationships and terms with all major audiobook retailers.
Hachette UK Distribution works with a number of print-on-demand (POD) suppliers.
- Where multiple POD suppliers can satisfy an order, our systems will select the best one based on the geography of the customer, enabling you to ‘print locally’ in the UK, US, Germany, South Africa, Australia, India and Singapore.
- You can connect with your printer using multiple feeds, a blended approach of direct from your Management Information System, plus multiple feeds from Hachette to accommodate different territories and the associated tax rules.
- We can ship POD directly from the printer, both domestically and globally.
Auto stock replenishment (ASR)
We operate an auto stock replenishment solution, with our systems linking directly with your printer to automatically replenish stock, eliminating significant administration and time from your ordering process.
With no restrictions on what you want to send from your printer directly to your customers, our printer direct system allows publishers to select particular orders to have these sent from the printer directly to the customer but invoiced through Hachette UK Distribution to retain a single repository of information.
